SKY Soccer Announces New Director of Coaching!


SKY Soccer Club is excited to announce the promotion of Zach Salchli to the newly appointed position of Director of Coaching for the U11-U19 Academy Program. This decision reflects the organization’s commitment to fostering talent from within and providing growth opportunities for its dedicated team members.


Zach, who has been an integral part of SKY Soccer for 11 years, has consistently demonstrated a passion for the sport and a commitment to the development of youth players. With a deeply rooted background as a soccer player and coach, achieving his Masters in Education of Learning and Instruction from Vanderbilt University, and is currently enrolled to obtain his U.S. Soccer B License. Zach is well-equipped to take on the responsibilities of Director of Coaching, which include managing the coaching staff, programs, and player development for the Academy Select Program.


"We are excited to announce and welcome Zach Salchli to this important role of Director of Coaching for the SKY U11-U19 Academy Program,” said Chase Embry, President of the SKY Soccer Club Board of Directors. “Zach brings a wealth of experience and leadership that will be instrumental in furthering our mission of Developing Great Players and People. We are confident that under his guidance, the program will continue to thrive and provide exceptional opportunities for player development both on and off the field. Congratulations Zach!


Since joining the organization, Zach has successfully coached soccer players from the introductory ages of 2 through 22 at the Division 1 College Level. He is a Licensed U.S. Soccer Grassroots Coach Educator in the states of Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee, and regularly hosts courses to continue educating soccer leaders in these communities. Zach was notability named; KYSA Girls Competitive Coach of the Year in 2022, United Soccer Coaches South Region Coach of the year in 2018, and KHSAA Girls Coach of the year in 2018. He has coached teams locally at the High School level at Greenwood (2015-2018) and Warren Central (2021-2022). His promotion reflects the organization's ongoing effort to recognize passionate hard work and support career advancement opportunities for staff members.


"I'm honored to have the opportunity to lead our U11-U19 Academy Program,” says Zach Salchli. “This club and community have been so important to myself and my family over the years, and I am excited to help shape the direction of our Academy Program. We have so many exciting things going on at SKY Soccer Club, and I am blessed to have the opportunity to lead us from both ends – with our Pre-Academy Program for our youngest players to our Academy Program for our oldest players to further solidify our clear pathway for player growth and development. I look forward to helping to shape our young people through our commitment to develop both Great Players and Great People."


Zach has been the Pre-Academy Director at SKY Soccer for 6 years, provided by his organization, Mighty Kicks of Southern Kentucky. Mighty Kicks offers premier introductory and mobile soccer programs for kids. Mighty Kicks teaches basic soccer skills by using age-appropriate games, drills, and exercises. The sessions are healthy, educational and FUN! The team atmosphere builds socialization and Life Skills at an important developmental age. Their programs introduce the positive character strengths that are proven to have a direct impact on achievement and success in sports, school, and life.
